Starting something new always comes with a mix of excitement, uncertainty, and a fair share of challenges- and this past weekend reminded me exactly why it’s all worth it.
We had such a wonderful time participating in the McHenry St. Patrick’s Day parade. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with our community, share smiles, and continue spreading awareness about the importance of mental health. Being out there, surrounded by so much support and positive, reinforced something I deeply believe: we all need a space where we feel safe, heard, and understood.
At the heart of my practice is that very idea-that everyone deserves someone to confide in. Whether you’re navigating stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply need a place to process your thoughts, having that safe space can make all the difference.
I’m incredibly proud of the team we’ve built. Each clinician brings their own strengths and specialties, allowing us to support a wide range of needs. We currently offer individual, group, couples, and family therapy, and we have openings available for those ready to take that next step in their mental health journey.
One of the things I’m most excited about right now is the expansion of our in-person services. We are officially welcoming clients into our new office here in McHenry, and it has been so meaningful to create a space that feels warm, inviting, and grounded in care.
Reflecting on this growth brings me back to something I often talk about with clients: the importance of setting goals. This practice didn’t come together overnight. It took vision, persistence, and a willingness to keep going even when things felt uncertain or difficult. There were obstacles along the way-moments of doubt, setbacks, and challenges-but having clear goals helped guide me through.
Goals don’t have to be big or perfect. They just need to be meaningful to you. When you give yourself something to move toward, even small steps begin to add up. Over time, those steps can lead to something you once only imagined.
If you’ve been thinking about making a change, starting therapy, or setting new goals for yourself, consider this your sign to begin. You don’t have to do it alone.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello at the parade, and to this amazing community for your continued support. I’m so grateful to be part of this journey with you.
Warmly,Rachel Day Calvert,
LCSW Practice Owner
